COVID-19: Tips for Keeping Yourself & Loved Ones Safe
I have already discussed the financial implications of the Coronavirus, this post focuses on how to stay safe and flatten the curve.
COVID-19 wont kill us all. It’s not the end of the world. However, several projections show that my March 23rd, without proper action, our ICU units in several major cities will be overwhelmed by patient volume. We are about ten days behind Italy in terms of infection rate. Hospitals in Italy already have to decide who gets treatment, depending on their age & chance of survival. Imagine having to choose who get’s to live or die? If many of us can prevent ourselves and our loved ones from getting infected, we give hospitals a fighting chance to handle the load. Here is a list of tips to keep you safe.
- Social Distancing — This is by far the most important one! Stay away from bars and other social gatherings. I can’t stress this enough. Social distancing means physical avoiding other people as much as possible. Stack up on books. Work from home if you can. Tell your employer that crowding into an office poses a public health risk.
- Wash Your Hands — Scrub for 20 seconds with hop soapy water. At minimum, wash your hands as soon as you get home, after using the bathroom, and before eating or prepping food.
