Gratitude For Groceries
And The Power Of Mindset
I used to HATE going food shopping. I was so annoyed that I had this chore to do every week.
But my perspective has completely shifted. I love going food shopping, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to do it. Optimizing my health is very important to me. Going to the grocery store allows me to buy the most nutritious food possible, with relative ease.
When I see something as a chore, I like to imagine what the alternative would be without that option. Imagine there was no grocery store.
Before grocery stores, most people had to farm, hunt or gather for their own food. Imagine you had to hunt, kill, skin and cook an animal anytime you were hungry? Or you had to try to satiate yourself with berries you found in the forest? In a grocery store, you can gather all of the food you will need for a week in less than an hour. You can choose exactly what you want to eat from a vast selection. You have a refrigerator to store your food and an on demand fire to cook with. All of the hard work has been done for you. All you have to do is earn a few bucks to pay for it.
I am so grateful to be able to live in a complex society that allows for this luxury.
